28 Apr 2007 - St George's Celebration with music, maypole and good food.
The afternoon started off with
some English dance tunes played
for us by the Society of Recorder
Players, who meet on Saturdays
in our church hall. A tuneful and
relaxing start.....
T hen young and not so young
earned how to dance round a
maypole without too many tangles,
thanks to tuition from Jane Pfaff.
A very large spider chased some
of our younger members round
the maypole, which had
miraculously transformed
into a huge web.......
Olive treated us to a couple of
songs, sung with great gusto...
Mel showed off her newly
acquired skills at the sax......
Luckily, Malcolm, Meryl and Joan
had meanwhile cooked a wonderful
meal of sausages, jacket potatoes and
salad, which fuelled our brains as
we competed in Mick's quiz.
An excellent evening, and we hope to see new friends again here at St George's.
