Churchwardens

Tom, Mick, Sam and Jim
SAM PERRY: We are deeply saddened to announce the recent death of Deputy Church Warden Sam Perry. He was a most loyal and devoted member of the church and will be a great loss. Our sincere sympathies go to his family.

Our team of volunteers includes, among many, Veronica, who, as Verger, assists at weddings and funerals, and Joan, who, as Sacristan, takes care of the church furnishings and fabrics. Finance queries should be directed to the Treasurer, and ways of making regular or one-off donations can be discussed with the Gift Secretary.
Here on the left you can see Joan and Sam tempted to buy from Veronica's

Sunday Groups
Children of all ages are warmly welcomed in
our church. Those over 4 years can leave
part-way through the service with our Sunday
Group leaders to join in the activities which
may be puppet-making, posters, planting
seeds, drama - and many other
exciting activities.
They then show what they have been doing
to the rest of the congregation at the end
of the service.
Those under the age of 4 can go with
their parents to the creche, where the
service is relayed over a speaker system. |

Children can put their drawings and prayers in the children's corner. |

Faithseekers
Faithseekers is a group of people
in the church who meet at a
member's home, generally at 8pm
on a Thursday evening in term-time,
to explore issues of faith, and
who dare to go a bit deeper by
raising questions and sharing
thoughts in a safe and supportive
setting.
Sessions are usually themed,
and those who wish, take turns
to lead informal prayer or discussion.
The group is currently attended
by about 5 - 7 people. |
We have links with many community groups,
both locally and in other countries.
Currently, our building is also used by
the Ethiopian Orthodox Church on
Sunday mornings between 8 and 10am.
Our vicar has been to Ethiopia to establish
links with churches and charities there.
|
Recent themes at Faithseekers
have included books in the Bible,
the Minor Prophets, films about the
life of Jesus, and a look at other
world religions.
Faithseekers is open to all
members of the church at
St George's.
