Sundays
Main Service @ 11.00am
1st and 3rd Sundays - Morning Prayer
2nd and 3rd Sundays - Holy Communion
5th Sundays - Morning Prayer/Holy Communion
Our services are open to all, and very welcoming to newcomers. We try to involve everyone in what we do,
especially the children. Our worship includes time for silent prayer, with much of our music and prayers being home-grown.
Sunday services are followed by tea and coffee, and the chance to meet with each other.

Children of all ages are very welcome. There are activities for them in our upstairs gallery, and there is a
beautiful crèche, pictured below, for parents with babies and toddlers. The service is relayed over a speaker while your children explore our toys!

Sunday evenings at 7pm: Night Prayer: Meditative close to weekend
A quiet service using Buddhist methods to aid meditation will be held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 7pm in the Payer Chapel.
Our side chapel, for private prayer. We also have a chapel near the entrance, for smaller gatherings, evening services and private prayer Weekday services

Holy Communion
Wednesday Evening at 7.00pm Weddings
If you live in the Parish of St George and All Saints and would like to be married, you will need to have your Banns (a public declaration of your names and intention to be legally married) read in the church at Sunday Service for the three weeks prior to the wedding day. In order to arrange this, please call our office on 020 7607 6678 and we will make a time to get together, fill in the necessary forms, and talk about relevant costs.
If you want to be married in the church itself, please phone to discuss possible dates. We can also accommodate a reception party in the church hall opposite too!
At St George’s we are happy to marry those who have been previously married and divorced. Talk to our Vicar Melanie if you have any questions about this. Funerals
Arranging a loved one’s funeral is always a difficult time, and at St George’s we want to help you as much as possible. If you would like someone to talk to or to arrange some bereavement counselling, or just want to have the person’s name added to our prayer list, please call our office. Revd Melanie is always pleased to be able to speak with friends and family of the deceased and to help organise the necessary preparations for the funeral and advise on the choice of readings and hymns.
Baptisms
The Baptism of a child is a wonderful opportunity for the community of St George’s to welcome new member of God’s family. Usually we like to have the ceremony as part of our Sunday Morning service so that we can all be present and share in the great occasion. If however, there are likely to be a very large number of guests present then another time later on the Sunday can be arranged. In order to talk about this and also what is required of parents and godparents, please talk with the vicar.
If you are an adult and want to talk about the possibility of your own baptism, please come one Sunday morning to our 11.00am service and introduce yourself to a member of the clergy. We don’t ask you to jump through hoops, but it is important to get to know our Christian community here, as we will all be helping your journey in faith, and praying for you along the way. Doing things together and helping each other bear the load is a hallmark of our life here, and we want you to feel prayerfully supported during this time in your life.
Confirmation
People of all ages want to come to confirm their faith in Christ. We welcome everyone who comes. If you have been baptised as a child and want to re-affirm those vows that were made for you as a child, we offer the sacrament of confirmation, where our Bishop comes and performs this beautiful ceremony. If you would like your older children to receive instruction and prepare themselves for confirmation, we would like them to attend our Sunday Groups activities and talk with the clergy.
St George's serves the local community in many ways. If you would like more information, please phone the Office on 020 7607 6678
and leave a message.
Home Communion
for the sick or house-bound
Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them”. Numbers are not important to us and if you cannot be with us for services in the church, we are happy to come to you. So, if you cannot come because of illness or infirmity or for any reason you would like to have a Communion Service in your home, please call the office to arrange. If you or someone known to you is taken into hospital and would appreciate a visit or someone to pray with them please let us know.
Please call our vicar, the Revd Melanie Toogood,
on 020 7700 0383
to arrange a visit.
